I hope everyone enjoyed the last days of summer. Looks like Fall is here with winter just around the corner. That's Minnesota for you!
Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00. Our featured guest will be Carol Schwankl, who will telling us what judges look for in award winning quilts. I am really looking forward to hearing Carol speak.
For our January meeting, we had hoped to have a panel discussion to answer questions from our members regarding all things quilting related. I had asked for members to submit topics that they would like discussed, but as of yet, no one has emailed me anything. Hopefully I receive some responses before our January meeting or you may just have to listen to me talk about my kids, LOL.
Hope to see you all at the October meeting, hopefully without snow on the ground!
Mary

January Meeting
I had a wonderful time at our meeting on Saturday. Sue Heinz gave a wonderful presentation about her friend, Elmer. From the feedback I have received, it sounds like everyone enjoyed her class. I'm disappointed I was unable to attend the class. I did come home stuffed after all the great food at our pot luck.
I had several people request the recipe for my salad, so here you are:
-Mixed salad greens--I used the precut and washed salad bags, 1 bag of romaine and 1 bag of baby spinach blend.
-Small amount of thinly sliced red onion
-1 container of crumbled Feta cheese- I used the sun-dried tomato feta
-small bag of walnuts, carmalized--I used pecans
Dressing:
-equal amounts of olive oil, white vinegar, and sugar
-1/4 tsp dried mustard
-2 Tbsp poppy seed
Combine the dressing and mix well. Pour over salad just before serving.
I hope everyone will be able to attend our next meeting in March. I will post details as soon as I have them confirmed.
